SALARY : R 523 976.11 per Annum (PL 1)
REQUIREMENTS: Grade 12 (Matric) plus Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science/Environment Management/Waste Management or any other equivalent qualification on an NQF 7. Candidate must have at least 5 years of experience in Waste Management or a related field of which 2 years of those MUST be at Supervisory or at middle Management level. Candidate must be in possession of a valid South African driver’s license preferably Code 08. Must demonstrate a high level of Communication Skills, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, report writing skills and computer skills. Candidate must not have any criminal record.
DUTIES: Candidate will be responsible for the management of the Waste Management services in all the Units of the Municipality. Candidate must be able to identify and define the immediate and long-term objectives, and plans associated with the management services in the Municipality. Be able to plan, manage, organize and control the continuous provision of waste management services to promote service excellence to the municipality and its customers. Oversee the Waste Management budget process management to ensure sound financial management practices that align with the budgetary requirements. Develop, coordinate and supervise personnel to promote productivity, achieve the division’s goals and prevent conflict in the department. Provide effective and efficient management of waste with an emphasis on reducing, reusing and recycling together with responsible disposal and rehabilitation.
